Overview
This is the first incremental patch for Update 51 in The Elder Scrolls Online. This patch is focused on addressing some of the day one issues from Update 51 launch and additional general game adjustments. For example, unintentional unsheathing is no more! This along with several systems and UI fixes are available in this patch.
In addition, this patch sets up some of the base game content changes coming when Season Two launches, including the addition of Greymoor, Antiquities, Moon Hunter Keep and March of Sacrifices to Base Game.
If there are fixed you expected to see but are not present in this incremental, please note we do have more fixes coming in the second U51 incremental patch, coming in November. A full list of patch notes is located below. Thanks everyone !
New Features / Big Changes
Base Game Expands
Prepare for Season Two’s new Solo Dungeons and revisit a beloved zone and system. Players who do not own these DLCs will receive them upon their first login after Update 51 Incremental 1 is live.

- Moon Hunter Keep Dungeon
- March of Sacrifices Dungeon
As a reminder, to see what content is owned on your account, visit the Collections Menu and visit the Collectibles, Stories, etc. tabs.
Combat & Gameplay
Combat & Abilities
General
- Fixed: Where your character could unsheathe their weapon unprompted after navigating some UI elements such as Collections. Perhaps they were just overzealous in their pursuit of knowledge.
Itemization & Item Sets
Dungeon Set
- Black-glove Grounding: Fixed an issue where this set's dodge cost reduction applied to more than dodge.
Base Game Fixes
Alliance War & PvP
Veterancy
- Reduced the rate at which certain rare materials (Nirncrux, Perfect Roe, Aetherial Dust, and Aetheric Ciphers) appear in Veterancy Crafting Pouches. Other materials are unaffected, and these will still appear occasionally, but not in every pouch.
Crafting & Economy
General
- Adjusted the ratio at which Aetheric Ciphers and Aetherial Dust drop from certain containers. This means you'll still get either Dust or a Cipher at the same overall rate from these containers, but when you do it's more likely to be Dust and less likely to be a Cipher.
Master Writs
- Corrected an issue where one of the Master Alchemy Writs could request an impossible combination of traits. Rolis Hlallu has communicated this to the client, and new writs going forward will request a more feasible combination of traits.
While this fix does not retroactively correct impossible writs, please consider holding onto them. A future patch will update those writs to match the new trait combination.
Dungeons, Group Content, Dynamic Encounters
March of Sacrifices
- Bear Aura’s damage shield on allies has been reduced after unexpectedly increasing in Update 51.
Sanity’s Edge
- Ansuul the Tormentor: Fixed an issue where Ansuul the Tormentor had a chance to disappear underground and never return.
Miscellaneous
General
- Fixed: Tamriel’s critters would sometimes be afflicted with random visual effects.
Quests & Zones
Rumors
- Bumps in the Night: Hiding to eavesdrop on the target characters will now properly start the conversation.
- May the Gold Leaf Guide You: Fixed an issue where the rumor starter wasn't properly showing up.
- Mysterious Dreamer: Fixed an issue where if you had completed one of the objectives in Stonefalls, you'd not be able to complete the rumor.
- Azrashul's Legacy: Fixed an issue where if you had completed Reaper's March's main questline, you could not hand in the rumor.
- Letter-Crossed Levers, Fellowship of Honest Toil, and Maormer Business: Added a visual glow on the final turn-in location for multiple Rumors.
UI
General
- Fixed a UI error that can occur when talking to the subclassing trainer during the initial subclassing quest.
Gamepad
- Fixed a visual issue where the attribute stat values would sometimes show the wrong number of available points when performing an attribute respec.
- You should no longer see the ESO UserID within the social menu.
- Fixed a UI error that occurs when loading a character into the game with profile communication set to blocked.
